When booking an appointment with Nails By Shel, you acknowledge that you agree to the following policies.


Opening Hours:

Nails By Shel will not make any exceptions to set hours, and does not provide out of hours appointments.

Opening hours are as follows.
Tuesday – Friday: 7am – 5pm
Saturday: 7am – 3.30pm


Accessibility:

Clients are always welcome to bring a support person or service animal along to their appointment if necessary.

If you have an accessibility need, please get in contact, and Nails By Shel will be happy to assist in any way possible.


Inclusivity:

Nails By Shel’s salon is a judgement-free zone where all are welcome and accepted. Hateful behaviour will not be tolerated. Clients are encouraged to reach out if they need a cultural or religious consideration made during their appointment.


Silent Service:

Nails By Shel happily offers a Silent Service to anyone that requests it. Clients can request a Silent Service in their booking notes, or via email (shelley@nailsbyshel.com.au) or text (0411 187 435).

The client will receive a thorough consultation and a plan will be created for their design. Clarification/approval will be requested throughout the process but the rest of the time is the client’s. Nails By Shel will also play some relaxing music or a Spotify playlist of the client’s choosing if desired. Alternatively, the client may bring along their own headphones to listen privately, or just enjoy some quiet time.


Appointment Bookings:

Appointment requests can be made using Nails By Shel’s online booking system. This can be accessed via www.nailsbyshel.com.au/online-booking

If booking online and the times available are not suitable for you, please send a message to shelley@nailsbyshel.com.au and you will be placed on a waitlist, and contacted if there is a cancellation.

Bookings can also be requested by phone or text (0411 187 435) or by direct message on Facebook or Instagram (@nailsbyshel.au).


Non-Refundable Deposits:

New clients and clients who have previously missed, rescheduled or cancelled an appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice will be required to pay a Non-Refundable Deposit (hereinafter referred to as a “Deposit”) prior to confirmation of their requested appointment. An invoice will be sent to the client via email upon requesting a booking and must be paid in full within 24 hours of receipt to secure the appointment. The Deposit will go towards the total service cost, with the balance payable on the day of the appointment. The Deposit is non-refundable.

If the client misses their appointment, or cancels or reschedules with less than 48 hours’ notice, the Deposit is forfeited and a new Deposit will be required to secure future bookings.

If the client cancels or reschedules with more than 48 hours’ notice, the deposit may be transferred to a new appointment. If a new appointment is not booked within 2 months of the date of cancellation, the Deposit is forfeited. The deposit may be transferred once only, and will be forfeited if the client cancels or reschedules a second time, regardless of the amount of notice given. A new deposit will then be required to secure future bookings.


Booking Confirmation:

Upon confirmation of a booking, automated text and/or email correspondence will be sent to the client, containing details about the appointment. Additionally, a reminder message will be sent 48 hours prior to the commencement of the appointment.


Late Arrival:

Nails By Shel does not extend service times or issue refunds/price adjustments for late arrival. Failure to arrive on time for an appointment may lead to service alteration, allowing Nails By Shel to perform only the most important parts of the service.

Arriving more than 15 minutes late for an appointment will result in its immediate cancellation.

Nails By Shel asks clients to get in contact on 0411 187 435 if they will be late.


Cancellations and Rescheduling:

The time booked for the client is reserved for the client’s exclusive use. If an appointment is missed, rescheduled or cancelled without sufficient notice, Nails By Shel may be unable to fill the vacancy. 

Nails By Shel classes rescheduled and missed appointments as cancellations, and requests at least 48 hours’ notice before the commencement time of the appointment if the client will be unable to attend. Cancellations after this 48-hour time frame will result in the requirement of a Deposit to be paid before confirmation of any future bookings.

Repeat cancellations may lead to refusal of future booking requests.

Note: Emailing or messaging via Instagram or Facebook are not accepted forms of cancellation. It must be done through Nails By Shel’s booking website or by phone call/text message. Links to cancel or reschedule are at the bottom of every confirmation email.


Contact Information: 

In the event that incorrect contact information is provided, including but not limited to, client name, phone number, or email address, Nails By Shel may not be held responsible for loss of correspondence, such as appointment confirmation or reminder messaging. In instances of incorrect or inaccurate contact information being provided, it is the client’s responsibility to identify these errors and email shelley@nailsbyshel.com.au to have them rectified.


Payment Options:

Nails By Shel accepts cash and card payment. Card payments are subject to a 1.9% surcharge.


Distractions During Service: 

It is imperative that clients do not touch their clothes, face, hair, or reach into handbags during their appointment. Use of your hands may affect preparation and bonding completed and interfere with the longevity of your nail enhancements. If a client chooses to do this, Nails By Shel will not be held responsible.


Maintenance

It is recommended for the health of the client’s nails that they return every 2-4 weeks for maintenance services.
It is the client’s responsibility to book appointments to receive the maintenance required to wear nail enhancements. If the client does not book in advance and cannot find an appointment, Nails By Shel will not be held responsible.


Children and Animals:

Children and animals (with the exception of service animals) are not permitted in the salon. It is not a safe environment for them. The products, chemicals, tools, and equipment used in the salon are both expensive and dangerous if not handled by a professional. If you absolutely must bring your child with you, please get in contact with me before your appointment.


Age Requirements:

Nails By Shel is 16+ only. People under the age of 16 will need parental consent or they will be denied service.


Right to Refuse Service:

Nails By Shel retains the right to refuse service at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to: frequent cancellations, lateness and failure to comply with the policies included in this document.
